After returning home from the launch of his book about the occult, Daniel Shergold's house is broken into by thugs, who beat his wife to death and leave him paralyzed. A depressed agoraphobic in his secluded country cottage, Daniel mourns the death of his wife while being cared for by home nurse, Fiona. He is unable to accept the lack of success the police have in finding his wife's killers. Daniel accepts a visit from a mysterious stranger who insists he can help him reap revenge. He agrees and is thrown into a strange and horrific transition into darkness. With renewed strength, Daniel sets out to avenge his wife's murder, but at what cost?
Oliver Milburn
Oliver Milburn spent a lot of his life wondering what to do with it – and watched film after film to take his mind off the problem. Then, at around twenty years of age, having written various pieces of prose, and directed some theatre, it occurred to him to be involved in what he really loved: film.
He studied at Bournemouth University as a Masters student in directing, but always knew that his way into making features would be through writing. Having written and directed a number of shorts, including writing the award-winning The Cases of Detective Policeman (Landcrab Festival – People’s Choice award).
In April of 2009 he presented producer Emma Biggins with a first draft of the script for The Harsh Light of Day. Using her business plan and his script, they raised the finance, crew and cast needed to make the film. He is now working on several other feature scripts and writing a science-fiction novel.
Dan Richardson – Daniel
Trained at the School Creative in Vancouver, Canada, Dan has received critical acclaim for his work in such feature films as ‘When Life was Good’. Added to this success Dan has gained notoriety on the film festival circuit for his lead roles in shorts such as ‘The Contest’ and ‘The Pane of Glass Between Me and the World’. A truly versatile actor, Dan's talent allows him to interchange between genres like Horror, Comedy and Thriller.
Giles Anderson - Infurnari
A Graduate of The Drama Studio London, Giles has enjoyed a successful career on the screen and stage alike. Most notably his roles as Colin Todd in ‘The Damned United’ and Carl in ‘I want Candy’ have allowed him to work with such industry greats a Sir Ian McKellan and Michael Sheen. A writer himself, Giles is a member of The Soho Theatre and the Royal Court Theatre’s writer programme. Here numerous of his scripts have been read and performed.
Sophie Linfield - Fiona
Graduating from the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art, Sophie has supported a career by working under such well know directors as Stephen Poliakoff, Nick Love and Elijah Moshinsky. Best known as Tamara in the award winning film ‘Football Factory’, Sophie’s acting repertoire spans across: horror, comedy, classic drama and Westend Theatre.
